1.Forget the hotel room!

At some point in time hotel rooms became a very popular location for brides to get ready in the morning. But let's face it, nobody wants to be getting ready in a small, messy + cluttered space with poor lighting. Unless you are staying in a fancy hotel suite with lots of natural lighting and space, chances are there is going to be ugly yellow lighting that just isn't flattering on anyones skin tone!

Solution: Instead of booking a small and cramped hotel room, try booking an Airbnb instead. They are often the same price or cheaper than a hotel room and often you can get a whole condo or house! Plus most airbnb owners pride themselves in having an aesthetically pleasing rental.. which makes your photographs that much better!

2.Find a space with lots of natural lighting

Nothing is more flattering than natural lighting! Turn off all indoor yellow lighting and open up ALL the windows for the best lighting possible. Not only is this going to make your photos the best quality they can be, but your make-up artist will also thank you for this one! It is the most authentic lighting and keeps everything true to colour.

3.Consider the location

The morning of your wedding is busy enough! You do NOT want to be wasting precious time driving across the city to your ceremony. Also keep in mind the distance between both the bride and groom's location if you are planning on doing a first look. That will not only alleviate the stress of getting to the location on time, but also makes it easier to co-ordinate who is going to be there first and who has to hide! (definitely don't want this moment messed up!)

4.Keep it Clean!!

This is often the most common mistake wedding parties make! Remember your surroundings are what are going to be seen in your precious photographs. Keeping the room clean will keep the focus of the photos on you, rather than the clutter in the background. It also will help you stay organized, not worrying about where things are.

Tip: Have all of your details laid out nicely for your photographer to photograph, to ensure you don't forget anything!

Hopefully these little tips help you to be able to find the perfect location that fits your needs!

No matter where you end up deciding to get ready, photos the morning of, are definitely something we recommend! These moments truly do complete your wedding story when looking back at your memories!
